Halsey Paper Mill - Two Views

The Halsey Paper Mill is the last active paper mill in Oregon.  We recently visited a site near the mill for a paint-out.  I first made a semi-realistic painting in acrylic and subsequently a distorted ("Wonky") version in oil.  Reality is obviously highly overrated.

Fishing Boats, Oregon Coast

This 22X28 painting was based on a small section of a photograph I took long ago and thus I don't remember the exact location. I am starting to make larger paintings.

The Suislaw River Bridge in Florence, OR

I made this oil painting a few weeks ago and forgot to post it. It is 12X16 and will be included in a future collection of coast or bridge images. If I don't sell some pictures soon I will no longer be able to move around my studio.

Harbor, Oregon

A week ago a group of us spent 3 days on the south coast of Oregon.  We stayed in the small coastal town of Harbor.  In the evenings we spent time among the fishing boats.  I took a few photos and later painted the following.
I am now using  traditional oils because they have abetter feel than the water soluble oils.
