Apperson Hall (Oil Painting)

This is another redo of an old painting of the front entrance of Apperson Hall (Civil Engineering Dept) on the OSU campus. It has since been rebuilt and renamed Kearney Hall. I was standing in front of the building painting with my French Easel when the contractors arrived to survey the building. One of them asked me if I was doing a "before and after". I didn't know at the time what he meant.

The Schreiner's Bear (Oil Painting)

This is a redo of a painting I made on-site a couple of years ago at Schreiner's Iris Gardens. This was one of my first Vistas & Vineyards outing.

The painting is 9X12. I now use a lot more paint than I did at first and add a lot more texture. The bear was about 4 feet tall.

Ping In Oil

Based on a previous photo, I finally made an oil painting of Ping to hang near Pong's painting.
His is 9X12 while Pong's is 20X24. Fortuntely he won't know the difference, we often get their names confused anyway.

Corvallis Bus Station, Drawing

This is an update of a drawing I made a couple of years ago. This is a view from inside the Grayhound bus station which is across the street from the Benton County Courthouse.

Boats In Scotland - Oil Painting

Back in the mid-1980s I was on a business trip in Scotland. After a meeting in Edinburgh one day we decided to drive around Scotland. After having dinner at a small fishing village we passed this harbor scene. It was about 10pm yet it was still quite bright. Scotland is further north than you might think. It was getting darker when we passed the St Andrews golf course.
This is an 18X24 painting based on photographs I made that day.

Silver Falls Watercolor

It has been a long time since I painted a watercolor. This is based on a photograph I took last summer of the North Falls at Silver Falls State Park near Silverton, OR.

Enchanted Forest - Oil Painting

I just completed this 20"X24" painting for the owner of the house in the painting located just north of Corvallis. Of course I made a few adjustments in order to better represent my vision of the property.

Whooo Me - Barred Owl Oil Painting

This is my latest Oil Painting (9X12) which is a study for a later larger piece. It is based on a B&W photo I took in 1971 at a children's zoo in Kansas City.
