Tyee Workshop

The following are two paintings from a workshop last week at Tyee Vineyards in Philomath.  The first is a view through a grape arbor at the tasting room.  The second is an oil of a dead Tractorsaurus Hex.  I still can't decide whether I prefer oil or watercolor.

Mike, why do you have to choose? I think you have a great eye for color and that can be used in many media! The tasting room is beautiful and the Tractorsaurus Hex is wonderful too in it's own way. I really like the GreenGables house too and the boat at Newport done al in ink using the Tombows. Wow!

Beautiful paintings! The dinosaur remains is my favourite, it has a great atmosphere.

I agree with Stephanie,it's great to have the ability to switch from one method to another. You aren't timid about using color and that works very well. As long as you enjoy what you are doing-- that is the important thing.

I like both of them and they each have a very different feel or mood. All your work in all the mediums are grand. I am going to the Oregon coast on the 17th with Mari Le Glatin Keis. She is in Corvallis, do you know her? After the workshop I am coming back to Carvallis with another friend for a few days. You might catch us sketching around town. :)
